2K88 is the latest project from Polish producer and sound artist Przemysław Jankowiak — a key figure in Poland’s experimental and alternative rap scenes. From early releases on underground labels and playing with the noise-rock band Kristen, to co-founding the cult rap duo Syny, Jankowiak is consistently trying to break musical boundaries. With 2K88, he channels Y2K-era Polish rap nostalgia through the prism of bass-heavy UK club sounds, reflecting on the social, urban, and sonic mutations of Poland’s post-communist transformation. His latest album, SHAME, released on the Unsound label in 2024, is a progressive, bass-fueled transmission built from scraps of hip-hop's past.
